Logistics Portal Rebuild
Client: Freight Co.
85% reduction in manual data entry
The Challenge
Freight Co. managed over 500 shipments per day using a combination of spreadsheets, email threads, and a decade-old access database. Operators were spending two hours every shift re-keying data across systems, errors were common, and real-time visibility across the fleet was impossible.
Our Approach
We began with a two-week discovery phase shadowing the operations team to map every data flow. The key insight: 80% of the manual work came from three broken handoff points between the booking system, the warehouse, and the dispatch team. We designed a unified portal to replace all three with a single source of truth.
The Solution
We built a Next.js portal with a Node.js API layer that integrated directly with Freight Co.'s existing TMS and warehouse management system via REST APIs. Real-time shipment tracking, automated status updates, and a mobile-friendly interface for drivers replaced the previous manual workflows.
